The Arizona Student Investment Council is a student-led finance education organization based in Surprise, Arizona. We develop the next generation of finance professionals through equity research, pitch and portfolio management competitions, and mentorship from industry professionals.
ASIC's curriculum is built around our core investment strategy: Thesis-Based Investing. The strategy centers on using fundamental business metrics and macroeconomic analysis to research companies, drawing from the expertise of local investment advisors and finance professionals.
Year-round, members attend lectures and apply Thesis-Based Investing principles through investment simulations and competitions, building a sound technical foundation for real-world investing.
ASIC members compete in international finance competitions, putting their equity research, valuation, and portfolio management skills to the test against students worldwide.
ASIC competes in the Wharton Global Youth Investment Competition, one of the most prestigious high school investment competitions in the world, presenting an investment portfolio tailored to a client's needs through an annually released case study.
Members compete in the YIS Global Stock Pitch Competition, creating a complete equity research report and pitch deck, and presenting it to a panel of industry professionals.
ASIC leverages the expertise of finance professionals to give members direct insight into the processes, roles, and sectors that define the industry. Professionals contribute to ASIC by participating in Q&A sessions, judging competitions, and speaking at events.
The relationship is mutually beneficial. Professionals gain exposure to the next generation of finance talent, while students refine their knowledge through expert advice.
